Vodcast and Video Podcast Studio in Central London

Create a video podcast with the space, sound and production values of a broadcast programme.

Mount Pleasant Studio is a fully soundproofed film and television studio in Central London, available for vodcasts, video podcasts, filmed interviews, panel discussions and long-form branded content. Our 31ft-wide stage gives you the freedom to build a distinctive set, accommodate larger formats and create a visual identity that goes well beyond a fixed podcast booth.

Productions can hire the studio and bring their own crew, or use our fully managed multi-camera production service—including cameras, lighting, professional sound, crew and post-production.

The studio has welcomed productions for broadcasters and content companies including BBC, ITV, Disney, Netflix and Amazon. Recent visual podcast productions include James Corden’s This Life of Mine, featuring guests including David Beckham, Anthony Joshua and Brian Cox, and episodes of Brittany Broski’s Royal Court with members of the Bridgerton and Heartstopper casts as well as Matt Smith publicising season 2 of HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon’.

A flexible broadcast stage for distinctive vodcasts

Many video podcast studios offer a fixed room or permanent backdrop. Mount Pleasant gives you a full-size broadcast stage and the freedom to create a unique look for your programme.

The 31ft-wide, 41ft-deep stage can accommodate intimate two-person conversations, panel shows, roundtables, branded sets and larger formats. Its U-shaped infinity cove can provide a clean white background, be lit in brand colours or sit behind a completely dressed set.

Because the studio is fully soundproofed, dialogue can be recorded in a controlled environment despite our Central London location. The pre-rigged lighting and production infrastructure help reduce setup time while leaving your team free to adapt the space to the creative treatment.

U-shaped infinity cove

A seamless background that can remain white, be lit in colour or form the foundation of a fully dressed set.

Pre-rigged broadcast lighting

Pre-rigged Nanlux Dyno 650C fixtures and cyclights help reduce setup time. Additional ARRI, Aputure and other lighting can be supplied according to the production brief.

Soundproofed recording environment

Fully soundproofed to protect dialogue recording from the street noise, sirens and traffic that can interrupt production in Central London.

High-speed fibre connectivity

Suitable for remote viewing, live contribution, streaming and rapid file-transfer workflows, subject to the requirements of each production.

400A three-phase power

Substantial production power for additional lighting, screens and more ambitious studio configurations. Technical requirements should be agreed in advance.

Exclusive use of the facility

Your booking includes private use of the studio facility, including the stage, green room, make-up room, catering kitchen and client areas. This provides discretion for talent and a comfortable base for clients and production teams.

Dry hire or fully managed production

Experienced production companies can hire the studio and bring their own cameras, sound equipment and crew (we prefer you to use our lighting). The stage, facilities, pre-rigged lighting, power and connectivity provide a production-ready base in Central London.

If you would prefer us to manage the process, our turnkey video podcast service can cover production planning, cameras, lighting, sound, crew and post-production. We will discuss your format, number of contributors, required deliverables and release schedule before providing a clear quotation.

Turnkey vodcast production

Our managed production option is designed for clients who want to arrive, record and receive professionally finished files without assembling a separate technical team.

A typical package can include:

Optional services can include:

Every production is different, so the final equipment, crew, edit and delivery specification will be confirmed in the quotation.

Designed for recurring podcast series

Mount Pleasant is particularly well suited to weekly, monthly and seasonal video podcast series. Repeat booking arrangements, a consistent crew and an agreed technical setup can help maintain the same look and production standard across every episode.

Cost-effective set and prop storage

If you are producing a recurring vodcast, rebuilding and transporting the same set for every recording can add unnecessary time and cost.

Mount Pleasant Studio can organise cost-effective storage for your set, furniture, props and branded materials between recording dates.

Who the studio is for

Mount Pleasant supports productions that need more visual flexibility, privacy and production infrastructure than a fixed podcast booth can provide, including:

Frequently asked questions

A vodcast is a podcast produced for video as well as audio. It may take the form of an interview, conversation, panel show or recurring branded series and can be distributed through YouTube, Spotify, LinkedIn and social platforms. The term is often used interchangeably with “video podcast” or “visualised podcast”.

A video-first production requires more than microphones and a camera. Lighting, camera positions, eyelines, backgrounds, set design and space for crew all influence the finished programme. Mount Pleasant is a full-size soundproofed film and television stage, giving productions greater creative and technical flexibility than a fixed podcast booth.

Pricing depends on whether you need studio-only hire or a managed production service, as well as the crew, equipment, recording time and post-production required. Contact us on 020 7837 1957 or simon@mountpleasantstudio.com and we will provide a clear quotation based on your production brief.
